For the energetic, climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey and explore the beautiful ruins which tower over the town. Well known as the home port of the legendary seafarer Captain Cook, it also draws Dracula fans with its many connections to Bram Stoker. Don't forget to sample the world-beating fish and chips, fresh from the harbour\n\nSewerby Hall & Gardens and Bridlington\nUniquely situated in a dramatic clifftop position with spectacular views over Bridlington and set in 50 acres of early 19th Century parkland, Sewerby Hall and Gardens offers something for everyone, from the magnificent gardens to the deep rooted heritage of the house. To visit Grade I listed Sewerby Hall is to tour through architectural history. A total restoration in 2013-2014 has re-presented the hall as an Edwardian Country house, circa 1910 with impressive pieces from the Victoria and Albert Museum. Discover 50 acres of award-winning gardens and woodland where each garden offers its own variety of sights, smells and sounds - Pleasure Garden, Walled Garden, Rose Garden and the Woodland. Later on a road train will transfer into the centre of the charming traditional resort of Bridlington, the real star of the 2016 Dad's Army film and a delightful pocket of Yorkshire. Bridlington Old Town is tucked away from the bustling seafront and is a step back in time, with cobbled streets, charming architecture, and historic landmarks that tell the story of its rich past. The grand 4* Crown Spa Hotel, built in 1844, may be the town's oldest hotel but it is also one of its best. Located on the south side of Scarborough, the hotel overlooks the promenade and is around 10 minutes' walk from the main town centre and 20 minutes' walk from picturesque Scarborough Harbour. It retains many of its original features complemented by contemporary touches and features. The tastefully decorated guestrooms are lift accessible and offer TV, hairdryer and tea / coffee making facilities. Single rooms are doubles / twins for sole use.
