Description

Experience Castle Howard, a baroque masterpiece, more palace than house, conceived by Charles Howard, 3rd Earl of Carlisle, and executed by Sir John Vanbrugh from 1699. The House is centred on a striking dome, with two wings enclosing a courtyard, and contains an enormous collection of art treasures and ornate rooms. After exploring the House you will have time at leisure to lunch in one of three on-site cafés, browse the gift shops, and explore the extensive idyllic parkland and formal gardens, where peacocks roam.
