Excitement is building for the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo, a celebration of fascinating myths and legends from a diverse collection of cultures set to the beat of heart-pounding music! Join us for an exhilarating display of military tradition against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. After the big event, we enjoy a change of pace with a scenic drive along the Ayrshire Coast with stops at Ayr and Troon, a lovely way to round up our four days away.

Includes- Return coach travel- 3 nights at the Adamton Country House Hotel, Prestwick (JG2 rating) with dinner* & breakfast- Admission to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo- Excursion to the Ayrshire Coast (Ayr & Troon)- En-route visit to Gretna Green*Lunch will replace dinner on the day of the Tattoo.Please note: we advise you to be prepared with waterproofs etc. in case of inclement weather during the Tattoo. It will go ahead whatever the weather. This tour is considered unsuitable for those with mobility concerns due to the steep, cobbled incline to Edinburgh Castle and the steps/tiered seating at the Tattoo.

Then after lunch at the hotel, we depart for central Edinburgh where there's free time before making your way to the castle to take your seat for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The show brings together musicians and performers from every part of the world for a fabulous display of international culture. After the performance we travel back to our hotel.Ayrshire Coast, Ayr & TroonToday we explore the Ayrshire Coast and make our first stop at the popular seaside resort of Ayr. This little beach town boasts a charming seafront with an esplanade, long sandy beach and many fine Georgian and Victorian buildings. Our next stop is Troon, which overlooks the Isle of Arran and offers stunning, sandy beaches, which featured in the popular historical series Outlander, and a wealth of charming independent cafés and unique boutiques.Gretna GreenOn our way home, we enjoy a stop at the marriage capital of the world, Gretna Green. In this famous village lies the original spot where young eloping couples would marry 'over the anvil' at the Blacksmiths Shop.
