Itinerary
Included ExcursionsBath (full day)We travel to Bath, the only city in the UK to be named a World Heritage Site in its entirety. Rich in diversity, its most famous attraction is of course its natural hot springs at the Roman Baths, a magnificent temple and bathing complex. Renowned for its stunning architecture, this wonderful city has something to see at every turn. Marvel at the stunning Bath Abbey, the last of the great medieval churches of England, visit the many museums including the Jane Austen Centre, stroll through the beautiful parks and gardens, browse the many fantastic shops this picturesque city has to offer or enjoy afternoon tea at the magnificent 18th-century Pump Room.Minehead & Burnham-on-Sea (full day)Our first destination today is the famous seaside resort, Minehead. Traditional, family-friendly Minehead has been attracting tourists for years and it's easy to see why - the stunning coastline and long sandy beach attracts holidaymakers from all over the UK. There is plenty to see, including the quaint fishing quarter, charming harbour and the bustling town centre with its shops, tea rooms and restaurants. You can also stroll to the beautiful Blenheim Gardens or the 14th-century hilltop church, taking in the famous Church steps along the way.Optional ExcursionWells & Cheddar including a scenic drive through Cheddar Gorge - (£14pp)Our optional excursion begins with two notable villages, one situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills and the other at the foot of the Polden Hills. The historic cathedral city of Wells is England's smallest city and is renowned for its well-preserved historic centre, narrow streets and medieval architecture. We finish our day with a scenic drive through the beautiful Somerset countryside to Cheddar Gorge. Cutting across the Mendip Hills, the famous limestone gorge is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a Special Area of Conservation. The road runs through the ravine and offers outstanding views of the country's highest inland cliffs, soaring dramatically to 500ft.
