Boasting gorgeous sandy beaches, delightful fishermen's cottages, cobbled streets and an array of wonderfully enticing boutique and independent shops, visitors are sure to enjoy exploring this pretty Cornish port. Once a busy pilchard harbour, St Ives later became the centre of Cornwall's arts scene in the 1920s and '30s, when luminary figures such as Barbara Hepworth arrived in search of artistic freedom. St Ives still retains its artistic connections with numerous galleries including the illustrious Tate St Ives (entrance approx. £12 pp in 2024).\n\nTrebah Garden\nEnjoy a morning visit to Trebah Garden, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop. It is a valley garden created over 180 years ago and has more than 5000 plants from all over the world. Experience the magical essence of one of the great gardens of Cornwall and explore under canopies bursting with exotic blooms and follow vibrant tunnels of colour that cascade down to a secluded private beach on the Helford River. In Spring Trebah comes alive with a colourful array of 100 year old rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias and in autumn, Hydrangea Valley casts clouds of china blue and soft white across Mallard Pond.\nThere is a circular, step-free route around the garden, although as a valley garden there are steep hills in places. The Visitor Centre is fully accessible on a single level at the top of the garden. NB Trebah Garden is a cashless site and all payments in the gift shop, cafe and plant centre should be made by credit / debit card\n\nOPTIONAL EXCURSION\nMarazion & Land's End\nHead first to the ancient town of Marazion which claims to be the oldest town in Cornwall, having a charter granted in 1257. Enjoy the ever-present views of the iconic tidal island of St Michael's Mount as well as sandy beaches lapped by the clear, turquoise waters of Mount's Bay. Take a walk along the main street running parallel to the sea and discover a variety of gift and craft shops along with art galleries showing established and upcoming local artists as well as plenty of places to eat and drink. Continue to Land's End, the legendary Cornish destination and one of Britain's best loved landmarks, famous for its unique location and beautiful scenery. Return to Falmouth to spend the rest of the day at leisure.\n\nDay 5 - After breakfast, return homewards with suitable stops en-route, arriving back at your local joining points early to mid-evening
