Itinerary
Day 1 - After boarding your holiday coach, head north with a suitable refreshment stop en-route. Arrive at your hotel with a welcome tea/coffee and porterage and plenty of time to freshen up before dinner. 3 nights DBB\n\nDays 2 - 3 - At leisure in Huddersfield with two included excursions.\n\nINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nCalderdale Explorer & Halifax\nBegin the day with a scenic drive through beautiful Calderdale, the southernmost part of the Yorkshire Dales and the beautiful South Pennines area of river valleys, moorland and hill country. The Rochdale Canal and Calder & Hebble Navigation meet at Sowerby Bridge and the Wharf area is the heart of the town's great food and drink offering. The town has featured in the hit series, 'Happy Valley' starring Sarah Lancashire as strong-willed police sergeant, Catherine Cawood. Just down the road and surrounded by breathtaking countryside, the beguiling town of Hebden Bridge is known for its arty and creative identity. If its winding streets look familiar, it is because this quirky and charismatic town has caught the eye of many a TV and film director, propelling it to star status. Some of the films and shows made here include Sharpe, Swallows & Amazons and of course, Happy Valley.\n\nContinue into Halifax, once the heart of England's woollen industry and home to some of the region's best-preserved Victorian and Georgian landmarks. It is well worth taking time out to get to know this charming Yorkshire market town with its inimitable character and historical vitality. Be sure to pop into the handsome 15th Century Minster (where Anne Lister is buried) to enjoy the beautiful interiors complete with painted wooden ceiling panels. Star of the show must surely be the magnificent Piece Hall. A unique Grade I listed Georgian masterpiece, it is the oldest remaining cloth hall in Britain. Following a multi-million pound transformation project, it is now a world class cultural and leisure destination with its grand open-air courtyard surrounded by a mix of independent galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants.\n\nThe Coronation Street Experience & Salford Quays\nHead over to Trafford Park, Manchester for your included tour of the famous Coronation Street. Entrance included.Discover the stories behind life on the nation's favourite street as you go behind the scenes and walk the cobbles! This unique opportunity gives you access to all areas of the outdoor Coronation Street set, revealing off-air secrets and fascinating facts. Journey through over 64 years of television history as you see original iconic props and costumes, a collection of artwork and replica interior sets of The Dobbs, Roy's Rolls and The Rovers Return.\n\nA short transfer over to Salford early afternoon - Salford Quays is also well worth a closer look. Once the site of the Manchester docks, it was upgraded as part of a massive urban regeneration project, resulting in the contemporary waterfront that can be seen today. It is home to some fabulous attractions including The Lowry theatre, the Imperial War Museum North and is the northern hub for both ITV and the BBC. The Quayside outlet mall provides more retail therapy opportunities but be sure to put your feet up in the myriad bars and restaurants - perfect for people watching along the glistening waterfront! \n\nDay 4 -Return to interchange with a stop for lunch on the way.
