For decades, the famous Blackpool Illuminations have been drawing crowds from all over the world, eager to see the greatest Free Show on Earth! For two whole months Blackpool seafront and the splendid Tower are transformed into a magical, fairytale world of glorious light and colour interspersed with impressive storytelling tableaux. This magnificent display features over 1,000,000 bulbs, hundreds of illuminated figures and themes and fifty miles of festoon strip.

Itinerary
Excursions
FULL DAY: Within an hour we are amid some of the most beautiful scenery on our full day tour of the Lake District. We drive to Newby Bridge, at the southern-most tip of Lake Windermere, where there is an opportunity to take a lake cruise. Moving on we follow Windermere's wooded banks to Bowness and then continue with a memorable drive over the Kirkstone Pass.
HALF DAY: Enjoy a half day excursion to the county town of Lancaster, steeped in history from the Romans to the present day and well worth exploring at your own pace.
HALF DAY: An extended half day tour to the elegant resort of Southport, with its beautifully laid out gardens and famous Lord Street - one of the finest thoroughfares in the north of England.
EVENING TOUR: An evening drive along the spectacular 'Illuminations' seafront, see hundreds of illuminated figures and themes, as the famous Golden Mile comes alive in a kaleidoscope of colour.

Joining Your Grand UK Coach Holiday
For 2024 we have introduced improvements to our network of local pick up points across the eastern, central and southern England, aimed at shortening your journey times and getting you away on holiday more easily and conveniently, meaning an altogether more relaxing start. We now have two pick up regions so your travel days will be more convenient, providing more efficient journeys, meeting your tour manager and fellow travellers earlier and in most cases arriving in resort earlier, please refer to our Pick-ups section below for more details.
The Tour Ref below indicates whether the tour departs from Area A or Area B by having either an A or B at the end. For example, GUK5A would be a tour departing from Area A.

Traveling from Departure Area A: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Northampton Services on the M11, at junction 15A.
Traveling from Departure Area B: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Beaconsfield Services, M40, junction 2.
