With its lovely sweeping bay and miles of golden sandy beaches, its easy to see why Sandown is such a traditional holiday favourite. Retaining much of its Victorian atmosphere, the resort has a pier, seaside cafés, and lovely walks by the sea wall to neighbouring Shanklin and along the cliffs to Culver Down for panoramic views of the Channel. Inland the pace is relaxed and unhurried, but with many holiday attractions. Find peace and quiet, and peace of mind, on this unique holiday island.

Excursions
HALF DAY: An extended half day excursion this morning as we head to Godshill, arguably the prettiest village on the island, before heading to Ryde, a delightful 18th century town and holiday resort with spectacular views across the Solent to the mainland.
FULL DAY: Hugging the south coast of the island we begin our day with a visit to the Isle of Wight Pearl, offering a combination of beautifully created jewellery and stunning views of the coastline. We continue to Alum Bay with its famous twenty-one colour sand cliffs and views of the famous Needles, before reaching the port of Yarmouth.
HALF DAY: Along the coast road to Shanklin Old Village - a real picture postcard setting with its thatched houses, well-tended gardens, pubs, restaurants and gift shops.

Joining Your Grand UK Coach Holiday
For 2024 we have introduced improvements to our network of local pick up points across the eastern, central and southern England, aimed at shortening your journey times and getting you away on holiday more easily and conveniently, meaning an altogether more relaxing start. We now have two pick up regions so your travel days will be more convenient, providing more efficient journeys, meeting your tour manager and fellow travellers earlier and in most cases arriving in resort earlier, please refer to our Pick-ups section below for more details.
The Tour Ref below indicates whether the tour departs from Area A or Area B by having either an A or B at the end. For example, GUK5A would be a tour departing from Area A.

Traveling from Departure Area A: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Northampton Services on the M11, at junction 15A.
Traveling from Departure Area B: Be picked up from your free local departure point, and join your tour coach at our interchange area at Beaconsfield Services, M40, junction 2.
