Itinerary
Explore charming Stratford-Upon-Avon
Day 1 - After joining your holiday coach, head to Stratford-Upon-Avon pausing en-route for refreshments. Check in to the 4* DoubleTree by Hilton Stratford-Upon-Avon. DBB\n\nA glass of house wine is included with your first night dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day and if you would like a table for two this evening, please advise and the hotel will allocate you a suitable table if possible (group dining time and menu still applies)\n\nDay 2 - 3 At leisure in Stratford-Upon-Avon with two included excursions\n\nA historic market town with more than 800 years of history, Stratford-Upon-Avon is a wonderful treasure trove waiting to be explored. Stroll along charming streets lined with independent boutiques and gift shops, as well as more familiar household names. As a busy British market town visited by tourists from across the world, Stratford-Upon-Avon offers a wide range of local restaurants, pubs, and cafes in the town, both independently run and more familiar brands. Enjoy a stroll along the banks of the River Avon and watch the swans glide by.\n\nINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nStratford-Upon-Avon - Shakespeare's Birthplace & Cream Tea Gin Tasting\nTake a stroll through the bustling town before getting ensconced in the town's eminent history at Shakespeare's Birthplace. Enjoy a fascinating visit where you can walk in the playwright's famous footsteps, exploring his childhood home at your own pace, hear tales of family life in the playwright's early years, and learn about life as a glove maker's son in an Elizabethan market town. Discover objects that tell the story of Shakespeare's life, and hear the origins of some of the English language's most unusual sayings and myths. Time at leisure after the visit before you meet this afternoon at Judith's Tasting Room in the heart of the town on the High Street. The building used to be the home of William Shakespeare's daughter, Judith, and her husband, Thomas Quiney, who ran a wine business form the premises. A Bard's Cream Tea awaits you here together with a tutored tasting of three of Shakespeare Distillery's spirits as well as a Stratford Gin & Tonic. Stroll back to the hotel at your leisure\n\nScenic Drive Through the Northern Cotswolds\nBoard your coach this morning to enjoy a scenic drive and visit some of the charming villages of the Northern Cotswolds. There is something magical about the Cotswolds. Maybe it is the rolling hills, or perhaps the fairy-tale villages but one thing is certain when you visit the Cotswolds you will feel transported back in time. Your route will take you via picturesque Broadway (the Jewel of the Cotswolds) - so called due to its wide High Street lined with horse chestnut trees and pretty period houses and cottages made from the honey-coloured Cotswolds stone. Onto Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds, with its impressive large Market Square as well as the enchanting door of St Edwards Church, locked between two trees and rumoured to be the inspiration of JRR Tolkien's 'Doors of Durin' in Lord of the Rings. Just up the road, Moreton-in-Marsh has been welcoming travellers for over 1700 years since the Romans built the Fosse Way. Head back to Stratford-upon-Avon later to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure\n\nDay 4 - After a relaxed breakfast and a leisurely morning, drive to interchange with a stop en-route and ample time for refreshments
