Itinerary
Weston-super-Mare, Cheddar, Glastonbury & Wells
Weston-super-Mare has always been a popular destination for holidaymakers seeking a relaxing time by the long sandy beach. Staying at the York Hotel, we can enjoy everything this seaside resort has to offer, from a stroll down its iconic pier and eating fish and chips on the seafront to watching the tide come in. From our base, we head out to explore some famous gems of the West Country, including trips to festival-famous Glastonbury and the popular village of Cheddar, as well as an optional excursion to the elegant city of Bath.

Weston-super-Mare, Cheddar, Glastonbury & Wells
Included Excursions
Glastonbury & Wells (full day)
Peaceful and picturesque, Glastonbury and Wells are both historic markets towns, steeped in wonder and mystery. We head to Glastonbury first, popular with those seeking spiritual enlightenment, and synonymous with the largest musical festival in the world. In contrast, Wells is home to England's first Gothic cathedral, still intact and the reason for Wells being the smallest 'city' in England.
Cheddar village & scenic drive through Cheddar Gorge (half day)
On our half-day excursion, we head to Cheddar village, known as the origin of Cheddar cheese, which has been produced here since the 12th century. The village offers many tea rooms, gift shops and, of course, the Cheddar Cheese factory.
We then enjoy a scenic drive through the magnificent limestone Cheddar Gorge. Classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Britain's largest gorge has dramatic cliffs rising up 450ft and stunning stalactite caverns.

Optional Excursion
Bath - £14pp (full day)
The historic city of Bath has remained faithful to its Regency roots, with an abundance of elegant terraces, circuses and squares in a picturesque valley setting. The magnificent Royal Crescent is a must-see and the central square is home not only to Bath Abbey, but also the ancient Roman Baths. The city has an excellent selection of shops; especially along the Pulteney Bridge, one of only four bridges in the world to feature shops across its full span on both sides.
