Enjoy an early weekend break in Cumbria
Day 1 - After joining your holiday coach, sit back and relax as your journey takes you northwards. A suitable lunch time stop before arriving at your hotel for the next 3 nights at the 3* Holiday Inn Express in Barrow-in-Furness with a welcome tea/coffee on arrival DBB\n\nDay 2 - 3 - At leisure in Barrow-in-Furness with two included excursions\nThe hotel includes one drink (house wine, beer or soft)) per person each night when entering the entertainment area plus two additional drinks vouchers upon arrival at the hotel. There is in-house entertainment provided each evening - bingo night, movie night & games / quiz night\n\nINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nUlverston (Half day)\nHead up the road to Ulverston, a fine town in the centre of the Furness peninsula, with colourfully rendered old houses, a labyrinth of cobbled streets and inviting side alleys. Stan Laurel (Arthur Stanley Jefferson) was born in Ulverston, (then in Lancashire but now Cumbria), in 1890. The Laurel & Hardy Museum is open daily (entry not included - approx. £7.50 pp in 2025). There is also an indoor market which is open daily except Wednesdays. Enjoy time at leisure in Ulverston before returning to the hotel for this afternoon's included Afternoon Tea. The hotel is centrally located in the town should you wish to step out and explore. Barrow Market (indoor) is open on Saturdays until 17.00 and there are a number of historic buildings can be found on the town centre heritage trail (https://visitbarrow.org.uk/exploring-the-heritage/)\n\nWindermere Cruise, Bowness & Lakeside Motor Museum\nStart the day with a delightful introduction to Windermere with a 45-minute circular cruise from/to Bowness with fantastic views of the many islands (holmes), lakeland mountains, wooded shorelines and bays. The lower deck is heated and there is an onboard commentary which informs passengers about the history, attractions and points of interest around Bowness and the central part of the lake. Enjoy time at leisure in Bowness-on-Windermere (without the high season holiday crowds) where you will find plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Hop back on the coach for an afternoon trip down Memory Lane at the fascinating Lakeland Motor Museum, a collection of over 30,000 exhibits that trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century - cycles, motorbikes, motor cars and automobilia. You'll also find recreations of period shops, a 1930s garage, a tribute to Donald Campbell plus a WW1 display. There is a cafe and gift shop.
