Itinerary
ItineraryDay 1 - ArrivalFrom a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel in time for dinner and our first night's stay.Day 2 - The Flying Scotsman & CambridgeFollowing breakfast at the hotel, we head to Wansford, where we board our train behind the magnificent locomotive, the Flying Scotsman. Sit back and relax as we meander through a picturesque landscape of water meadows, idyllic farmland and a country park during our steam-hauled round-trip journey on the Nene Valley Railway. Opened in 1847, it has featured many times on screen, including the James Bond films Octopussy and Goldeneye.Upon our return to Wansford, we make our way to atmospheric Cambridge for some free time. This fascinating university city is full of beautiful architecture, leafy green parks and majestic college buildings, including the famous King's College Chapel on the banks of the River Cam. Watch the punters drift by on the river or visit the Fitzwilliam Museum, the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge, which contains a vast collection of paintings, armour, ceramics, furniture, textiles, sculptures and manuscripts.Day 3 - Return HomeAfter checking out of the hotel we re-join the coach and make our way home.
