Menton Lemon Festival, Nice Carnival, and the Italian Riviera

We all deserve a little winter sunshine, why not treat yourself and join us as we head to Italy’s sun-soaked
section of the Cote d’Azur, experience wonderful Italian hospitality while enjoying the highlight of this tour,
the magnificent delights of two special festivals; enjoy the party atmosphere at Nice Carnival and join in
the fun at Menton Lemon Festival, both wonderful spectacles in their own right, complete with grandstand
seating. During our stay spend free time exploring Alassio our Casa Italiana with a journey along the Italian
Riviera to visit the ancient maritime city of Savona, discover its narrow streets and medieval alleyways
lined with colourful buildings leading down to the Mediterranean Sea. With relaxing overnight crossings

WEDNESDAY
Depart Leyland at 1.00pm for our journey to
Newcastle where we will board our overnight
ferry to take us on a mini cruise to Amsterdam,
disembark the coach. We will have dinner onboard
the ferry, enjoy the onboard entertainment before
retiring to your cabin for the night.
THURSDAY
As we disembark, re-join the coach to continue
our journey to our overnight hotel in Strasbourg,
with a suitable lunch stop en-route, continue to
Strasbourg, arriving in time to freshen up before
our evening meal.
FRIDAY
Check out of our overnight hotel following
breakfast to continue our journey to the Italian
Riviera with a suitable lunch stop en-route, arrive at
Hotel Toscana in Alassio our Ligurian home for the
next five nights, enjoy a warm Italian welcome with
arrival drink, allowing time to freshen up before
your evening meal.
SATURDAY
This morning we enjoy at leisure in the resort,
with lunch at the hotel before we travel to Nice,
there’s time to explore the old town and perhaps
take a stroll along the famous Promenade des
Anglais, this evening we take our seats to enjoy
the magnificent views and party atmosphere of
Nice Carnival Parade, watch brightly coloured and
decorated floats accompanied by musicians and
dancers as they travel around the city centre.
SUNDAY
Travel along the coast to join in the fun at Fete du
Citron with a visit to Menton for the Lemon Festival,
each year the citizens of Menton try to outdo each
other with lemon inspired creations that require
more than 145 tonnes of citrus fruit. Visit the giant
sculptures in the Bioves Gardens which becomes
a wonderful sea of orange and yellow before
taking your seats, enjoy the procession of citrus
fruit decorated floats, marching bands and drum
majorettes.
MONDAY
A free day to relax and enjoy Alassio and the
surrounding area, today the choice is yours.
TUESDAY
Following breakfast, join the coach for a scenic
journey along the coast to the ancient maritime
city of Savona, easily explored on foot in a day.
Wander narrow streets and medieval alleyways
lined with colourful buildings leading down to the
port and Mediterranean Sea.
WEDNESDAY
Following breakfast bid a fond farewell to our
wonderful Italian hosts as we depart the sunsoaked coast to begin our journey to Strasbourg
with a suitable lunch stop along the way. Arriving at
our overnight hotel in time for dinner.
THURSDAY
Check out of our overnight hotel following breakfast
as we begin our journey to Amsterdam Port, with
a suitable lunch stop en-route, board the evening
ferry from Amsterdam back to Newcastle, once
onboard disembark the coach. We will have dinner
onboard the ferry, enjoy the onboard entertainment
before retiring to your cabin for the night.

Enjoy breakfast on board before re-joining the
