Included Excursions
Snowdonia (Betws-y-Coed & Conwy) (full day)
We depart for the charming and delightful village of Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia'. Set in a beautiful valley in Snowdonia Forest Park, there is much to see including the old 14th-century church of St Michael's, which is one of the oldest in Wales, and the quaint buildings and shops dotted along the main street. We then visit the medieval walled town of Conwy, home to the imposing Conwy Castle, considered to be among the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain, as well as a quaint harbour with traditional pubs and snug cafés.
Chester (full day)
For our second included excursion we travel to the medieval city of Chester, famed for its beautiful black and white Tudor buildings and unique 'rows' where the picturesque galleries run above the central shops. Here we have time to explore the great sights of the city such as the town hall and the Norman-era cathedral or refresh ourselves at a selection of bars and restaurants.
Optional Excursion
Isle of Anglesey (£14pp) (full day)
On our optional excursion, we head out for adventure on the Isle of Anglesey, off the mainland's northwest coast. We travel over the 19th-century Menai Suspension Bridge to get to our destination. We stop at the medieval town of Beaumaris, well known its impressive castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, constructed between 1295-1330. There is much to see within the town, including the busy seafront and pier, where we take in the fantastic views over the Menai Strait. Afterwards, we make our way to the pretty village with the incredibly long name, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantisiliogogogoch!
