Itinerary
Included ExcursionsPaignton (half day)Once a small fishing port until the 19th century, Paignton is now one of the most popular resorts in Torbay, due to its long white sandy beaches, genteel buildings, and old-fashioned, Victorian-style pier with stunning views. Walk along the traditional promenade or enjoy a bite to eat in one of the many beachfront cafes overlooking the sea. There's also a beautiful historic garden, Youngs Park, a natural habitat for wild birds and the ideal spot for relaxation.Plymouth (full day)Today we make our way to Plymouth, taking the scenic route through Dartmoor and stopping at Moretonhampstead, a picturesque town nestled in Dartmoor National Park. Upon arrival in the city, we have time at leisure in this energetic waterfront city, known for its university and breathtaking views of the ocean. Enjoy the fresh air and the scenery while you take a stroll around the Waterfront and immerse yourself in the city's rich maritime heritage.Optional ExcursionBrixham & Dartmouth (£11pp) (full day)Our first stop today is Brixham, an attractive port with colourful fisher cottages on the surrounding hillsides. There's so much to discover here, from the winding streets, snug with bustling arcades and gift shops to, the horseshoe harbour, home to a replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship, the Golden Hind.We then make our way to the riverside town of Dartmouth. Known as the 'Jewel of the South Hams' and a former home to Agatha Christie, Dartmouth is easily one of Devon's prettiest destinations thanks to its views over the estuary. Explore the pastel-coloured buildings leaning at angles and the picturesque harbour laden with yachts and pleasure boats.

Torquay
Torquay has been one of the UK's top holiday destinations since Victorian times when the Riviera name was used to describe this favourite of resorts. Their legacy remains with sparkling white villas perched on the hilltops and elegant Victorian facades along the main streets to make a beautiful setting for a perfect coach break.\n\nTorquay's famous seven hills provide the backdrop to the waterfront, with 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves, beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England and a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. Stunning views can be seen just about everywhere across the bay, out over the English Channel.\n\nTorquay is very much a place to relax, in the many pavement cafés, pubs and restaurants, so soak up the atmosphere, take in the scenery, stroll around the parks and the gardens - everything you need for a an enjoyable coach holiday in a traditional English seaside resort!
