Description
Royal Ascot is the premier sporting and social event in the summer calendar and is famed worldwide for its glamour, elegance and high-class racing action. During the third week in June, tradition, pageantry, fashion and style come together in a glorious confection at one of the most beautiful racecourses in the country. As one of the most prestigious and historic race meetings in the world, Royal Ascot's unique atmosphere is not to be missed!
So join us on Gold Cup Day (colloquially known as Ladies' Day) to see top-class thoroughbreds and world-famous jockeys compete in six races, including the legendary Gold Cup itself. We also experience Royal Ascot's unique focus on style, and although the whole week of Royal Ascot is a fashion show like no other, it is Thursday when the designer creations reach their zenith, and the elegance of the ladies' outfits is matched only by the flair of their hats!

Itinerary
ItineraryThursdayFollowing an early morning departure from your local area, we travel to Royal Ascot. Your included ticket is for the Windsor Enclosure, where there are plenty of bars, artisan food stalls, big screen TVs, live musical entertainment, seating, lawned areas and lots of places to place your bets! As the action begins, enjoy the excellent views of the traditional Royal Procession and all the afternoon's racing, including the Gold Cup, one of the most celebrated events in the horse racing calendar. After the final race, we depart for our hotel.FridayAfter breakfast we begin the journey home, stopping en route in lovely Windsor where we have some free time to look around. Located on the River Thames, this ancient town has a rich heritage dating back over 1,000 years with many beautiful buildings and cobbled streets and is known for its connection to the royal family.

Info
Important InformationThe Windsor Enclosure is an informal area of Royal Ascot, but many racegoers choose to dress smartly for the occasion and this is encouraged. Replica sports shirts, fancy dress, novelty and branded or promotional clothing are not permitted. The Queen Anne Enclosure ticket gives access to the Lower Grandstand, lawns and concourse. The Parade Ring and track are both within a short walking distance. Before the racing each day a military band will perform in the Parade Ring. Here the dress code is more prescriptive; men are required to wear a suit, shirt and tie, and ladies must wear smart, modest clothing with a hat, headpiece or fascinator. Very revealing or transparent clothing is not permitted; please see the Ascot Racecourse website for more detailed information www.ascot.com.

Hotel
Selected HotelJG3 or JG4 ratingWe'll stay at a well-appointed hotel outside London (JG3 or JG4 rating). Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.JG4 ratingAccommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services.
