There's a wealth of things to do, including the picturesque sights of the Old Town, the sprawl of attractions on the Royal Mile and the grandeur of George Street, with its many boutique shops, cafés and restaurants. The iconic castle perched high above the city is not to be missed, and don't forget to listen out to the one o'clock gun, fired daily since 1861! Alternatively, enjoy the National Museum of Scotland, holding over 20,000 exhibits spread across 36 galleries including the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, ancient Egyptian mummies and specimens collected by Charles Darwin, all under one roof.
