Included ExcursionsNorth Yorkshire Moors Railway & Whitby (full day)We start the day at Pickering's heritage station to board our train for a nostalgic journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, travelling through stunning scenery to Whitby. This charming coastal town features quirky streets and a picturesque harbour. It is most widely known for its atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs above the town which provided inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula.York (full day)Today we head to the historic city of York. Make time for the glorious York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe with world-famous stained-glass windows. Other highlights include the narrow, cobbled streets of the 'Shambles' where the buildings date back to medieval times, the Jorvik Centre which tells the story of York's Viking heritage, and the ancient walls surrounding the city. The famous Betty's tea rooms are also worth a visit.Optional ExcursionBridlington & Filey - £12pp (full day)Our optional excursion takes us to the seaside! We start our day with a visit to the delightful resort of Bridlington. There is plenty to see and do here with its sandy beaches, wonderful promenade, bustling harbour and the Old Town, full of quaint shops and cafés. Next stop is the quaint resort of Filey, full of olde-worlde charm and boasting a five-mile stretch of sandy beach as well as some of the most spectacular sea views on the Yorkshire coast.
