Included ExcursionsRyde & Cowes (full day)We make our way to the seaside resort of Ryde, with its long stretch of golden sand, pretty esplanade and marina. Take a leisurely stroll along the famous pier, the oldest in England, or admire the boats moored in the town's harbour. We then head to Cowes, where many of the town's ornate buildings date from Queen Victoria's time and are in the style popularised by her consort Prince Albert.Shanklin (half day)We spend half a day exploring Shanklin, nestled in the sheltered south-east corner of the island. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the sandy beaches taking in the sights of the striking cliffs and colourful beach huts, or have a wander through the village and discover the many independent shops, restaurants and pubs.Optional ExcursionIsland Highlights Tour - Alum Bay (Needles View), Ventnor, Newport & Yarmouth (£15pp)Join our optional excursion for a special Island Highlights Tour. We discover Alum Bay's colourful sands with views out to the iconic rocky outcrop 'The Needles', the pretty resort of Ventnor and the bustling capital of the island, Newport. This picturesque town centres on two squares surrounded by elegant Georgian and Victorian architecture - take the chance to explore the historic quayside or browse the selection of speciality shops here. We finish our tour at the historic port town of Yarmouth, complete with a lovely wooden pier.
