Learning the Art of Lawn Bowls
Day 1 - After joining your holiday coach, head to Warwickshire with a scenic meander through some of the charming villages of the Northern Cotswolds - Chipping Norton, renowned for its antique shops and Moreton-in-Marsh with its chocolate box houses, built mainly of the honey-coloured stone synonymous with the region. Check in to the 4* Chesford Grange Hotel with porterage on arrival. DBB\n\nDay 2 - 3 At leisure in Warwickshire with two included excursions\n\nINCLUDED EXCURSIONS\nLearn to Bowl & Royal Leamington Spa\nIt's normal to feel slightly apprehensive about starting something new, but you'll be made to feel very welcome at a top Warwickshire Bowls Club (exact club TBC) where you will meet a Bowls 'VIP' and enjoy a fun session to learn the basics of the sport to prepare you for your first friendly (or heated!) match, complete with special awards for the victors. The action required to deliver a bowl is based on a fairly natural physical movement and your first shot could be every bit as good as that of a world champion. Every bowler's delivery is slightly different, but you can't go too far wrong! Refreshments will be provided during breaks (tea/coffee and biscuits) and there will be a light lunch at the end of the session. (Dress code - comfortable clothing and trainers / flat shoes)\n\nThis afternoon head to Royal Leamington Spa for time at leisure to explore. Wide boulevards, stunning architecture and award-winning parks provide a sophisticated backdrop to this Regency town. Leamington town centre combines a treasure-trove of independent, specialist boutiques alongside high street brands and a huge variety of eating experiences. Enjoy some free time before heading back to the hotel\n\nShakespeare Gin Distillery Cruise & Stratford-upon-Avon\nEnjoy lovely Stratford from the River Avon on a 60-minute gin tasting cruise and view the sights such as the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church along the way. The skipper will share information about the river's wildlife and heritage as you cruise upstream, while you enjoy a tutored tasting of three award-winning crafted gin samples from the Shakespeare Distillery, an artisan spirit producer based in the town. At the end of the tasting and for the remainder of the cruise, sip a gin and tonic in a souvenir glass which you can take home with you. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in Stratford-upon-Avon with its 800 years of history and many buildings that survive today and would have been familiar to Shakespeare,\n\nDay 4 - After a relaxed breakfast, it time to check out and head homewards with a stop en-route before interchange. Arrive at your home towns this evening\n\nNB The location of the Bowls Club is still to be finalised, and its location, once confirmed, together with prevailing weather conditions may require the itinerary to be ajusted accordingly
