For one weekend every year the small Yorkshire town of Brighouse turns back the clock to commemorate the make do and mend spirit of the 1940s. The streets are adorned by revellers dressed in genuine 1940's civilian and military gear, from the Home Guard to the French Resistance. Enjoy a parade of the armed forces, see wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill, learn the Lindy Hop or even sit in a Messerschmit! Enjoy one of the many re-enactments and see many vintage and military vehicles on display in this truly nostalgic setting. Add an excursion to enjoy genteel Harrogate to complete a wonderful weekend away.
