Day 1 - After joining your festive holiday coach, sit back and relax as your journey takes you northwards. After a suitable en-route stop, arrive at your hotel later this afternoon to check in for the next 3 nights. There's plenty of hot food and drink to sample, including tasty mulled wine, spiced cider and hot chocolate - the perfect way to keep warm whilst enjoying the market. The traditional wooden chalets in the heart of the city centre around the town hall, wrap around an iconic sparkling Christmas tree, right next to the cathedral. Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000-year-old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700-year-old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight.\n\nLiverpool Christmas Market\nThe backdrop of the magnificent St George's Hall makes the Liverpool Christmas Market extra special. Look out for the Alpine Bar with the popular karaoke ski lifts as well as the giant Ferris wheel offering great views above the festoon lighting and other vintage fairground rides. Foodies will love the festive treats on offer from the Bavarian Grill and Yorkshire Pudding Wrap stall to sweet treats such as waffles and pancakes. There will be local arts, Christmas decorations, gifts, candles and crafts on sale.\n\nDay 4 - Check out after breakfast and head south and onwards this afternoon to interchange and your home towns mid evening.
