Scarborough's beaches have been described as some of the best in the country. These include South Bay Beach, North Bay Beach and a more secluded one at Cayton Bay. With the mixture of soft sand and tidal hard sand, they have the perfect castle-building sand! The town is also home to some of the UK's finest parks and gardens, including Peasholm Park, South Cliff Gardens and Royal Albert Park. Enjoy a stroll around these lush green spaces and take in their amazing natural beauty.

Whitby
Whitby is a town that offers you something a little bit different to the 'typical' coastal resort! Here, you can explore ornate cobbled paths, locally owned shops and quirky cafes, giving the town a unique, welcoming atmosphere. One of the most iconic parts of this lovely town is the famous gothic abbey, said to have inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula. Founded in 657, Whitby Abbey is over 2,000 years old and has so many fascinating stories for you to discover!

The lovely beach and harbour are also a favourite spot amongst locals and tourists alike, with boat trips available to see the North Yorkshire coast from a new perspective. This is also one of the few places in the UK where you can see the sun both rise and set over the ocean, making the pier perfect for an evening walk! There's lots to do in the town itself too, such as the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Whitby Brewery and Whitby Jet Museum. If you're a fan of walking then you'll be spoilt for choice, with many routes in and around Whitby, exploring cliffs, woods, country lanes and beaches.


York
York, a beautiful and enchanting walled city in the heart of North Yorkshire.
Described as a lively festival city with Roman roots and a Viking past, York offers a fantastic range of attractions for you to explore.Wander around the Shambles, quaint cobbled lanes which are home to independent stores, quirky gift shops and cosy tea rooms. With buildings from the 14th century, it's one of the most intact medieval areas in England, visited by many visitors every year.
Visit York Minster, one of the world's most magnificent Gothic cathedral and the largest cathedral in Northern Europe. This exquisite building contains an impressive collection of medieval stained glass, with the earliest dating back to the 12th century.
Explore the fascinating museums, such as the National Railway Museum, York Castle Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre. There are also inspiring art galleries, including York Art Gallery with artist collections that span over 600 years.

Built in 1863 the Grand Hotel takes pride of place overlooking Scarborough's picturesque harbour and South Bay. Located in the town centre, this stunning Victorian building is ideally situated to enjoy the attractions and sandy beaches of this popular resort.
It's one of the most iconic landmarks in Scarborough. The impressive Grade II Listed building was designed around the theme of time: 4 towers to represent the seasons, 12 floors for the months of the year, 52 chimneys symbolise weeks - and there were originally 365 bedrooms for the number of days in a year. Today, there are 413. Located in the town centre, this stunning Victorian building is ideally situated to enjoy the attractions and sandy beaches of this popular resort.
