The Northern Lights (also called the Aurora Borealis) are nature's very own theatrical performance. Northern Scotland sits on the same latitude as Stavanger in Norway and Nunivak Island in Alaska which are both hotspots for spotting the Northern Lights, so you're in with a real chance of seeing the 'Mirrie Dancers' at this time of year.
