Itinerary (Coach)
30th December After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.\n\nNew Year's Eve - Glasgow After breakfast, we make our way to Glasgow. Scotland's largest city wears many hats and truly offers something for everyone to enjoy. Blending impressive Victorian architecture (a throwback to its wealthy trade and manufacturing days), a huge range of museums and galleries, alongside a splendid selection of retail opportunities (think shopping malls and bohemian markets), you certainly won't be at a loss for something to do.Don't forget to pop into one of the many watering holes to meet some friendly locals - there might even be a band playing, after all, Glasgow is famed for its live music scene! Later, we enjoy our New Year celebrations at the hotel, including a Hogmanay buffet dinner.\n\nNew Year's Day - The Ayrshire Coast (Ayr & Troon)In contrast to the hustle and bustle of yesterday's excursion, today we enjoy a leisurely buffet brunch before we head to the glorious Ayrshire Coast to blow away the cobwebs. First up is the popular seaside resort of Ayr, this tiny beach town provides the perfect place to stroll along the charming seafront and admire the many fine Georgian and Victorian buildings.Afterwards, we travel to Troon for some time to explore at leisure. Head to the stunning sandy beach to take in the fresh sea air and gaze out at the Isle of Arran. Fans of the popular TV series Outlander will no doubt recognise South Beach as one of the filming locations. This evening we enjoy the chef's buffet dinner back at the hotel.\n\n2nd JanuaryAfter breakfast, we check out of our hotel and start our journey home, stopping en route in the marriage capital of the world, Gretna Green. In this famous village lies the original spot where young eloping couples would marry 'over the anvil' at the blacksmith shop.
