Description
Our day begins with a visit to Piece Hall in Halifax, with its heritage centre, gallery, shops and catering outlets. Originally built in 1779 by the wool merchants of Halifax as a place to trade cloth, Piece Hall is now the only surviving building of its kind anywhere in the UK. For the afternoon we make our way to Shibden Hall; dating back to 1420, there is much to learn about the lives of the people who lived and worked there, and about the Hall’s role in the BBC drama ‘Gentleman Jack.’ You will have free time to see the house, the beautifully restored gardens, and the workshops & carriage collection. (Entry included.)
Return time to Wesham: 17:30
