Itinerary
Description
Situated on Yorkshire's coast between two large bays, Scarborough has been welcoming visitors for nearly 400 years and provides a lovely setting for some pre-Christmas celebrations. We also discover the charming seaside town of Whitby and the pretty market town of Beverley.

Itinerary (Coach)
Day 1After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.\n\nDay 2 - WhitbyWe spend half a day in the coastal town of Whitby, famed for its connection to Bram Stoker's Dracula and for its striking jet jewellery, popularised in Victorian times. Wander around the harbour or the quirky narrow streets before tackling the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs above the town. Later we enjoy a traditional 'Christmas' dinner with all the trimmings back at the hotel.\n\nDay 3 - Optional excursion to York (£14pp)Our optional excursion takes us to the historic city of York. Make time for the glorious York Minster with its world-famous stained-glass windows and status as the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. Other highlights include the narrow, cobbled streets of the 'Shambles' where the buildings date back to medieval times, the Jorvik Centre which tells the story of York's Viking heritage, and the ancient walls surrounding the city. The famous Betty's tea rooms are also well worth a visit.\n\nDay 4 - BeverleyFor our second half-day excursion we head to the pretty market town of Beverley, famous for its 13th-century Minster. The town is full of historic buildings, cobbled streets and charming courtyards as well as quaint boutiques, cosmopolitan cafés and traditional pubs.\n\nDay 5 After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and travel home.
