Itinerary
Description
Escape to the seaside to celebrate the New Year in the beautiful coastal town of Scarborough! Feel all the excitement as the countdown begins in one of Yorkshire's most popular locations, famed for its stunning sea views, bustling promenade and gorgeous limestone cliffs. With included excursions to the cathedral city of York and the storied town of Whitby, this is the perfect setting to see in the New Year.

Itinerary (Coach)
30th December After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.\n\nNew Year's Eve - YorkWhat better way to enjoy the final day of the year than with an excursion to the historic city of York? Take in the famous York Minster - this palatial stunner is the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe and took a whopping 250 years to build - or why not explore the JORVIK Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum? The ancient city walls are well worth a look, as is the 'Shambles,' a warren of narrow lanes and overhanging buildings dating back to medieval times. After a couple of hours of exploring, be sure to treat yourself to a drink in one of the city's traditional inns or tuck into a slice of cake in a charming tearoom. Later, we enjoy our New Year celebrations at the hotel, including a Hogmanay buffet dinner.\n\nNew Year's Day - Whitby We enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel before we head to the glorious seafaring town of Whitby. There is simply so much to discover, from the ancient fishing harbour and the famous 199 abbey steps to the Bram Stoker connections and Captain Cook heritage, so take your pick and spend the visit exactly as you please. This evening, we indulge in the chef's buffet dinner.\n\n2nd JanuaryAfter breakfast, we check out of our hotel and enjoy some free time to explore Scarborough. We then join the coach in the afternoon for our journey home.
