The scenic coast of north Yorkshire is our destination for this relaxing yuletide break, where we can enjoy refreshing walks along the picturesque seafront in Scarborough and discover the many highlights of historic York.

Itinerary (Coach)
23rd DecemberAfter joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.\n\nChristmas Eve - YorkWe visit historic York, where we can wander the narrow cobbled streets with their distinctive overhanging buildings or spend some time in the city's beautiful Norman Minster, which boasts some of the finest stained-glass windows in the world. Alternatively, why not take a stroll around the city walls that have stood since Roman times and wrap around the city for 2.5 miles or visit the famous Betty's tea rooms?\n\nChristmas DayChristmas Day is a day of laidback leisure in Scarborough, where our hotel provides a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings followed by Christmas cake, tea and coffee. A light buffet dinner is served in the evening.\n\nBoxing Day - Optional excursion to Whitby (£9pp)Our optional half-day excursion takes us to the charming coastal town of Whitby, famed for its place in Gothic literature as a setting in Bram Stoker's Dracula and for its striking jet jewellery - popularised in Victorian times. Take a wander around the harbour or tackle the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs above the town.\n\n27th DecemberAfter breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

Rooms are functional and comfortable with en-suite facilities, tea and coffee-making facilities and a TV. Meals may be buffet style.\n\nRoyal Hotel, Scarborough (JG2 rating)The Royal Hotel is set in a grand period building, overlooking South Bay and just 500 metres from Scarborough's seafront. Hotel facilities include a bar and restaurant plus a leisure club with indoor pool, sauna and gym (small charge applies for leisure facilities). Meals are buffet style.\n\nCrown Spa Hotel, Scarborough (JG4 rating)The Crown Spa Hotel is a modern and tastefully decorated hotel spread over four floors and is the oldest purpose-built hotel in the coastal resort of Scarborough. With many of the original architectural features still on display, the hotel is a prominent building on the Esplanade. The Crown Spa Hotel features a luxury leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, a spa and a restaurant. All rooms are en-suite with free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee-making facilities.\n\nPlease note: Leisure facilities may open on reduced hours over the festive period, and light entertainment will take place on some evenings at the Crown Spa Hotel.
