Itinerary
Day 1:\n\nFrom a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to Lichfield, a handsome cathedral city, featuring beautiful Grade II listed buildings dating back to the 13th century, when King Henry VIII ruled the land. Wander the historic streets, adorned with independent boutiques and cafes or find public gardens to relax in, such as the charming hidden garden wrapped around the grounds of Chapter House. Later, we check in to our hotel where we enjoy dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.\n\n\nDay 2:\n\nAfter breakfast, we travel to pretty Shrewsbury, a fine medieval market town packed with timber-framed black and white buildings, a maze of narrow alleys and cobbled streets. Here we board our boat for a scenic cruise along the River Severn as it loops around the town. We enjoy light refreshments while we take in the beautiful views and discover the town's unique history from our captain's commentary. Later, we rejoin the coach for our journey home.

Shrewsbury
Situated on the banks of the River Severn, the medieval market town of Shrewsbury is a delightful place to visit on a coach break to Shropshire and surrounding area with National Holidays.
The town is one of the UK's most visited heritage cities, steeped in culture and history, which retains a timeless appeal thanks to its timber framed black and white buildings which line the maze of cobbled alleyways.
Today Shrewsbury enjoys a vibrant atmosphere with a bustling shopping scene, featuring a blend of designer shops and small independent boutiques, and calendar of festivals and events throughout the year.

River Severn Cruise
At 220 miles long, the River Severn is the longest river in Great Britain. Starting in the Welsh mountains, the river meanders through lovely countryside in Shropshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire to the flatlands of the Severn estuary. The river is fringed by historic cities, cosy waterside pubs and stunning cathedrals, and offers picturesque views at every turn. A leisurely cruise along this famous river offers the perfect chance to sit back, relax and admire the idyllic surrounding scenery.

Lichfield
Dating back to 1153 when King Stephen granted the first market charter, the cathedral city of Lichfield plays host to a vibrant market every week in the picturesque market square. There is a wide range of great-value goods on offer at competitive prices, including Italian ladies wear, leather handbags, jewellery, antiques, books, baked goods, plant and much more. A visit here is the perfect chance to grab a bargain or two!

Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
