The Cotswolds during the festive period is like walking into a Christmas card, with twinkling lights adorning the quaint honey-coloured stone villages and roaring fires in cosy pubs. We spend Christmas Eve in picturesque Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway and enjoy a Boxing Day trip to the beautiful city of Oxford on this lovely break.

23rd DecemberAfter joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.Christmas Eve - Cotswold Villages (Stow-on-the-Wold & Broadway)We explore two of the Cotswolds' most beautiful towns and villages today. We head first to Stow-on-the-Wold, renowned for its traditional stone buildings and wonderful collection of artisan boutiques before a visit to Broadway, which boasts a wide main street of picture-perfect cottages, quaint pubs and delightful shops.Christmas DayChristmas Day is a day of relaxation and leisure, where our hotel provides festive entertainment and a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings followed by Christmas cake, tea and coffee. A light buffet dinner is served in the evening.Boxing Day - OxfordWe travel to the picturesque city of Oxford, known as the 'City of Dreaming Spires'. Famous for its university colleges and magnificent architecture, the city's charming scenery has been caught on camera numerous times, including the popular Inspector Morse TV series. The city also has plenty of Boxing Day sale shopping opportunities as well as quaint cafés and tearooms.27th DecemberAfter breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.
The Cotswolds
One of the unspoilt regions of England, the lovely Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, covers six English counties and draws coach trips visitors from all over the world.
Renowned for its rolling meadows, meandering river valleys, pretty woodland, gentle hillsides and of course it's sleepy ancient limestone villages and market towns, the area hasn't changed much for over 300 years.
Oxford
This beautiful city of dreaming spires has plenty to offer the visitor on a coach break, with many historic university buildings to see including the famous Bodleian Libraries, and picturesque scenes of students and visitors punting on the river.
Oxford also has a wide variety of shops, from high street stores to quaint individual boutiques and bookshops, intermingled with plenty of restaurants and olde world taverns. The city's literary connections include J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and Oscar Wilde and provided inspiration for some of the sets in the Harry Potter films.
