23rd DecemberAfter joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.Christmas Eve - CanterburyOur first excursion is to the spellbinding city of Canterbury, home to the oldest cathedral in England which dates back to Norman times. There is plenty to explore within the city's medieval walls, from quaint cobbled lanes and timber-framed buildings to a bustling shopping centre.Christmas DayChristmas Day is a lovely day of celebration as our hotel provides a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings followed by Christmas cake, tea and coffee plus a light buffet dinner in the evening.Boxing Day - Sandwich & WhitstableWe head to the historic town of Sandwich on Boxing Day. Once a major port, there are still many original medieval buildings dotted around this enchanting town, making it a delight to explore.Our next stop is picturesque Whitstable with its small working harbour flanked by shingle beaches, pastel-coloured beach huts, weatherboard houses plus independent shops and galleries.27th DecemberAfter breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.
Folkestone
At the heart of the Garden Coast, lovely Folkestone has much to offer, with towering white cliffs to the East and broad sandy beaches to the West.
It's lovely harbour and wonderful sandy beaches make this a popular seaside resort, becoming one of the Cinque Ports in the 13th century.
