We first visit the lovely town of Grassington, known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, where the Christmas Market is in full swing, offering the ideal opportunity to soak up the fantastic festive atmosphere and find that perfect gift. Crusader Holidays uses an interchange system, taking place at either Beaconsfield Services (M40), South Mimms Services (M25/A1M) or Thurrock Services (M25).

Here you may have to change to your holiday coach and we are renowned for ensuring that this is smooth and efficient.

The holiday coaches typically depart from Beaconsfield Services at 11.15, Thurrock Services at around 09.30 and South Mimms Services at 10.30. Some customers find it more convenient to join direct at the interchange, please let is know when booking if this is the case.

Day 1 - After interchange head northwards with a comfort stop on the way. Arrive at the Craiglands Hotel in the afternoon for the next 3 nights with dinner and breakfast included.

Days 2 & 3 at leisure in Ilkley with 2 included excursions.

Grassington Christmas Fayre
Travel back to the time of Charles Dickens to experience the Christmas sights, tastes and smells from a bygone era at Grassington Fayre. For over 30 years this charming market town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on the banks of the River Wharfe is transformed into a Christmas scene from a Dickens novel with twinkling lights adorning the buildings whilst the streets come alive with traditional market stalls with shopkeepers and villagers dressed in authentic Victorian period costume. To many people a traditional Victorian Christmas immortalised in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol exemplifies the perfect Christmas atmosphere. Grassington has hosted one of the UK's longest running Dickensian Markets and will transport you back to the Victorian times for an authentic Christmas experience.
St Nicholas Fayre York
York is one of the UK's most popular cities to visit thanks to its well-preserved historic buildings, beautiful green spaces, and a spot at the confluence of the Ouse and Foss rivers. You'll find charming cafes and lovely shops dotted around secret alleyways, lively cocktail bars located along cobbled streets and fine dining restaurants like Andrew Pern's The Star Inn The City overlooking the river. The city lies between the North York Moors and Yorkshire Woldsso is surrounded by lovely countryside and there are lots of things to do in York.

Day 4 - A hearty Yorkshire breakfast before setting off back to the local area. A comfort stop will be made en route to interchange.Best Western Plus Craiglands Hotel, 3 Star

The ivy-covered Craiglands Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Ilkley town centre. The grand Victorian building has traditional rooms which have a satellite TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer.
