Join us as we head to the Walled City of Derry for our Londonderry Halloween Spectacular. Take part in the celebrations of Europe’s biggest Halloween Festival as the city welcomes the spirit of Samhain though its historic gates for a festival like no other. For three amazing nights two worlds collide, past and present bring magnificent street celebrations as all things spooky come alive on Derry’s ancient streets. Follow the story of Halloween as it’s brought to life through illumination, aerial performance, fireworks and music, surrounded by Irish folklore, history and heritage. Derry offers a spooky programme for all ages, day and night with fiendish fun from the start of your visit to the grand finale, the huge community street carnival, even the ghouls drum to the city beat. With a visit to the Ulster American Folk Park and a scenic drive along the start of the Wild Atlantic Way this is a great unique tour. Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Cairnryan to board the afternoon ferry to Belfast with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Re-join the ferry to disembark in Belfast Port as we continue our journey to Derry. Arrive at the hotel to a warm Irish welcome in time for our evening meal.
Tuesday
This morning we take a scenic journey to take in the spectacular scenery of the start of the Wild Atlantic Way with its traditional villages and unspoilt beaches. Experience breathtaking views as we travel to along the coast to Moville in County Donegal, from the we cross to the far coast via Carndonagh via Buncrana back to the Everglades Hotel arriving in time for lunch and to relax before heading into Derry this evening where you will have time for an evening g meal and to join the celebrations.
Wednesday
This morning we enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel, following lunch, join the coach for a visit to The Uslter American Folk Park, walk in footsteps of bold ancestors who emigrated to North America in the 18th and 19th century, following our visit head into Derry for the evening, allowing you to join in the festive atmosphere and have an evening meal before returning to the hotel at 9pm.
Thursday
In preparation for tonight's main celebrations in Derry we will have a leisurely morning at the hotel, mid-afternoon after we have had lunch we will head into Derry for this evening's celebrations, parade and fireworks, the best place to view the fireworks is along the quay beside Peace Bridge to Sainsbury's as they will be set off on the River Foyle. The parade route covers The Embankment, Queens Quay and Strand Road. The parade usually starts at 7pm with the firework finale at 8.30pm but make sure you get a good spot earlier as it will be extremely busy.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, head to Belfast where you will have free time in the Northern Ireland capital to explore, allowing time for lunch before we board the afternoon ferry to Cairnryan. Re-join the coach as we disembark in Cairnryan to continue our journey home.
