Autumn is a great time of the year to visit Lake Garda. There is often snow on the mountain tops but the mild climate offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the wonderful sights of Lake Garda's southern shores, clad with olives groves and vineyards. If you're looking to avoid the summer crowds and enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere, then there is no better time to visit this little slice of 'La Dolce Vita' when the temperatures are mild enough to enjoy pleasant lakeside strolls or to simply relax by the shore and admire the autumn colours that surround it.

DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, you will travel to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. Continue through France and into Germany for your overnight hotel at 3* Mercure Saarbrücken Süd. BBnnDAY 2 - Relax and watch the rural scenery unfold as you continue southwards to Lake Garda for your 5 night stay in Toscolano Maderno. Your holiday price includes a welcome drink on arrival and porterage. DBBnnDAY 3 - 6 - At leisure in Toscolano Maderno with two included excursions.nThe two towns of Toscolano and Maderno are joined together and there are lots of sandy beaches close together which are split apart by rocky divisions. The bay promenade features many bars and restaurants from which to watch the yachts and boats gently bobbing up and down on the lake.nnINCLUDED EXCURSIONSnDesenzano & SirmionenExplore the beautiful little town of Desenzano at the southern tip of the lake, which attracts the chic Milan crowds. With a calm, friendly and romantic atmosphere and a wonderful lakefront lined with bars and restaurants this is an ideal place to spend some free time. Alternatively, you can visit the castle and the Roman Villa from where the views are simply fantastic. Continue to Sirmione, one of Garda's most popular resorts which juts out several miles into the southern waters of the lake on a narrow peninsula of cypress and olive groves. Your driver may offer an optional boat trip from Desenzano to Sirmione subject to availability.nnSalo - Half daynTravel the short distance to the nearby resort of Salo, famed for having the longest promenade on Lake Garda and possibly in the whole of Italy. The resort is a delight, with its marina, full of neatly parked boats, numerous attractive buildings and pretty piazzas and designer shopping opportunities. The promenade is lined with restaurants, café-bars and the mild climate here makes it ideal for relaxing and watching the world go bynnOPTIONAL EXCURSIONnLake Iseo ExplorernOne of the lesser known lakes in Italy, Lake Iseo is just as captivating as its larger neighbours. Among the main attractions here are its spectacular views, natural beauty and air of tranquility around the local towns and lake. Iseo, set on the south-eastern shore, is the town after which the lake is named and is renowned for its authentic, historical centre and attractive cafes and wine bars. Relax on the lakeside or stroll along to the old harbour.nnDAY 7 - It's farewell to Lake Garda today as you head northwards on the way to your final overnight stop at 3* Mercure Saarbrücken Süd. Hotel Adria Resort, Toscolano Maderno
This is a friendly, 3* family run hotel, where you are sure to have a comfortable and memorable stay. All rooms come with en-suite facilities, TV and air-conditioning. This traditionally styled hotel is surrounded by attractive gardens and is located in the pleasant resort of Toscolano, on the 'Riviera of Lemons', just 100m from the lake. There is also a seasonal outdoor pool (main season only - pool towels are not provided), typical Italian restaurant and bar. There is a lift in the main hotel but not in the garden annex.Please note that not all Continental Hotels have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms. Tea and Coffee are not always served after dinner, it is left to the discretion of each hotel.
