Christmas in Scarborough & Historic York
Itinerary
23rd December - Arrival
After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.
Christmas Eve - York
We visit historic York, where we can wander the narrow cobbled streets with their distinctive overhanging buildings or spend some time in the city's beautiful Norman Minster, which boasts some of the finest stained-glass windows in the world. Alternatively, why not take a stroll around the city walls that have stood since Roman times and wrap around the city for 2.5 miles or visit the famous Betty's tea rooms?
Christmas Day - Christmas Celebrations
Christmas Day is a day of laidback leisure in Scarborough, where our hotel provides a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings followed by Christmas cake, tea and coffee. A light buffet dinner is served in the evening.
Boxing Day - Optional excursion to Whitby (£11pp)
Our optional half-day excursion takes us to the charming coastal town of Whitby, famed for its place in Gothic literature as a setting in Bram Stoker's Dracula and for its striking jet jewellery - popularised in Victorian times. Take a wander around the harbour or tackle the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs above the town.
27th December - Return Home
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.
