Join us as we head to the Isle of Man to Stanton and the luxury 4-star Comis Hotel and Golf Resort, located in beautiful grounds a few miles from the Manx capital Douglas for our Glorious Gulf Stream Isle Tour. The isle is unspoilt and the only entire nation in the world to be recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Located in the heart of the Irish Sea the island is rich in extraordinary nature, ancient and compelling history and vibrant culture. On our tour visit the North of the island, here lies hidden delights, secret coves cloaked by emerald hilltops, crystal clear waters and scenic roads where there is much to be discovered. Travel to the beautiful South through fishing villages, surrounded by beaches and glens, where railway tracks carve the landscape. Itinerary
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 11.00hrs for our journey to Heysham to board the 14.15hrs Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. crossing from Heysham to Douglas arriving at 18.00hrs, continue the short journey to the hotel arriving in time for our evening meal.
Monday
Today we enjoy the resort and have a morning of leisure, for those wishing to travel into Douglas early there is a local bus service to Douglas that runs from outside the front of the hotel, approximately every 20mins weekdays and approximately every hour on weekends (please see reception for more details and advise your driver your plans). For those that have stayed at resort for the morning join the coach at noon to travel into Douglas to spend free time exploring the islands capital with time for lunch.
Tuesday
Following breakfast take a scenic tour of the North of the island, travel the coast road to Laxey, home to one of the Isle of Mans most iconic landmarks where we will make a short photo stop, continue the coastal route to Ramsey, the islands 2nd largest town after Douglas where we will make another stop, take time to visit the harbour or the beach just 1 minute away from its town centre , re-join the coach to travel across the island to the west coast continuing to Peel the pretty seaside town and small fishing port, if you're a fan of kippers this is the best place to buy them, they've been cured here using the same traditional method since 1884, you can even have them posted home.
Wednesday
Following breakfast travel into Douglas where we will board a train on Isle of Man Transport from Douglas to Port Erin, enjoy a little free time in Port Erin before meeting our coach to take us on a scenic journey as we continue our discovery of the island, travel to the southernmost tip of the island to the Sound, a hotspot for sunbathing seals and wildlife, enjoy magnificent panoramic, coastal views over to the Calf of Man with time to visit the café and take some photographs, travel back to Douglas via Castletown where we will have a short stop in the former capital of the Isle of Man and home to Tynwald, the Manx court, wander its narrow streets lined with fishing cottages. Continue our journey passing the Fairy Bridge where local children leave gifts and messages for the islands Fay Folk (don't forget to greet the Fey inhabitants with a jovial 'Hello Fairies' or you may fall prey to their mischievous, malicious whims).
Thursday
Check out of our hotel following an early breakfast as we head to the short distance to Douglas Port for the 08.45am ferry back to Heysham where we will re-join the coach to continue our journey home.
