Description
We journey south to the National Trust owned Biddulph Grange in Stoke-on-Trent (entry included). This is one of Britain’s most unusual gardens, offering a formal Italian Garden, Egyptian Court, tranquil Chinese Garden, upside down trees, a stunning Dahlia Walk and the oldest surviving golden larch in Britain, brought from China in the 1850s. You will have time for a bite to eat in the tea room, before we continue to Norton Priory Museum & Gardens for a guided tour. Once home to a medieval church, this is the most excavated monastic site in Europe. Visitors can explore the 12th century undercroft with beautiful vaulted ceiling and the priory ruins showing the layout of the medieval buildings. Please note: National Trust members benefit from free entry, please inform us at the time of booking so that we can apply discount, and don't forget to bring your membership card with you on the day.
